Position Summary: As a CNC Programmer & Prototype Machinist, you will play a critical hands-on role in machining precision parts for engine prototypes, test rigs, and development hardware. This position demands advanced CNC programming skills, strong machining expertise, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-tempo prototype environment. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver who enjoys working directly with engineers to turn ideas into working hardware using both CNC and manual equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for complex multi-axis milling and turning operations.
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes (primarily Haas and Fanuc controls) to produce tight-tolerance prototype components.
- Generate efficient toolpaths and programs in MasterCam (preferred) from engineering drawings, 3D models, and verbal instructions.
- Machine high-precision parts while verifying conformance to specifications using precision measurement tools.
- Run manual machines as needed, including Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, and surface grinders.
- Partner with design and engineering teams to provide DFM feedback and refine prototype designs for manufacturability.
- Support process development, including tooling selection, fixture design, and continuous improvement of machining methods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while following all company safety protocols.
- Solid experience programming and operating CNC mills and lathes, with strong preference for multi-axis milling work.
- Working knowledge of Haas and Fanuc controllers.
- Proficiency with MasterCam for programming and toolpath generation (highly preferred; other CAM experience considered).
- Hands-on capability with manual machine tools (Bridgeport mill, engine lathe, surface grinder).
- Ability to interpret detailed mechanical drawings, including GD&T callouts.
- Proven problem-solving skills and comfort working independently on prototype and one-off projects.
- High level of attention to detail and personal accountability for quality.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced R&D setting.
